Flip the Script!

36 weeks 1 day!

Baby Maddy @ 36w1d

Liz and I had another doctor’s appointment yesterday – just a routine visit actually.  Routine, I suppose, except for the fact that we’d be having another ultrasound to see where baby Maddy was laying this time.  Up until now, 36 weeks, she has been breech the entire time.  We felt that she would stay that way since it had been this long and the doctor was leaning that way as well due to uterine septum issues Liz has dealt with (had 2 surgeries for) for some time now.  Doc said, she is probably just comfortable where she is!

Well, all of that led to discussions of a c-section and scheduling a date and all that jazz!  I wasn’t too sure about major abdominal surgery, but I was all for knowing when we’d go in to have the baby!  So, yesterday’s appointment and sonogram was a much anticipated event – we might finally know the date of our little girl’s arrival.

Surprise, surprise – little baby Maddy has gone and flipped the script on us – literally and figuratively I suppose.  She is no longer breech and is head down like she should be!

So throw out the talks of c-sections, schedule dates, recovery and all that – know we may just be in a waiting game!  We did talk to the doctor about possibly scheduling us anyway, since we are so far from the hospital and our families are so far away!  He said they he would do it between 39 and 40 weeks, which is only about 3 weeks away!

Things just got a little more interesting!

Yay! So happy baby Maddy decided to flip! Although I don’t feel recovery was any longer with my recent c-section versus my previous vaginal delivery, it was definitely more painful and difficult.

Just for clarification, was the schedual still for a c-section or just to induce by that time?

We are hoping that he will induce around then – no plans of c-section right now.
